Achiever Spotlight: Kit

Each month, we celebrate an Achiever who is growing, learning, and stepping into their confidence. This month, we are proud to highlight Tre, a dedicated and determined student who has been making incredible strides—both in and out of the classroom.

Recently, Tre took on an exciting new challenge: joining a karate class. Though he was hesitant at first, his perseverance paid off—he not only earned his uniform in record time, but he also became one of the most skilled beginners in the entire class, quickly advancing to a white belt with a yellow stripe. His hard work and focus even earned him a special invitation to compete in an upcoming tournament!

This journey hasn’t just been about karate—it’s been about building confidence and embracing challenges. Tre started out shy, unsure if he belonged in the class. But with encouragement from his mentor and the welcoming community he found, he pushed himself to try—and excelled. Now, he carries that same determination into his academic goals, working hard to improve in math and stay on track toward meeting grade standards.

Tre’s creativity, intelligence, and focus make him stand out. When he commits to something, he gives it his all. His mentor has seen this firsthand, helping him understand that even when something feels difficult at first, showing up, believing in himself, and putting in the effort will lead to success.

Reflecting on his journey, Tre shared:

"I want to be able to get good grades, go to a good college, so I can be very successful and land a great job!"
