BOARD: Joey Gaeta

Joey Gaeta is the Executive Director of the East Boston YMCA, where he leads with a strong commitment to ensuring that children, teens, and families have access to the opportunities, relationships, and resources they need to thrive. Since becoming Executive Director in 2019, Joey has focused on building meaningful community partnerships, expanding access to youth development programs, and creating spaces where young people feel supported and connected.

He believes deeply that strong communities are built through relationships and that every young person deserves adults in their corner who consistently show up for them. Joey is excited to bring his experience in nonprofit leadership, community engagement, and youth development to the Friends of the Children-Boston Board and to help advance its mission alongside its Achievers, families, staff, and supporters.
