One of our annual traditions at Friends-Boston is a Lemonade Stand hosted by our Elementary Achievers. Each year the Achievers learn about all aspects of the Lemonade business, from product development to customer service to budgeting, and each year they choose a local organization to receive a portion of their proceeds.

At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Elementary Achievers realized that their lemonade stand model may need to adapt to allow for social distancing and public health & safety. They embraced the opportunity to “turn lemons into lemonade” and began brainstorming new business models that would allow them to raise money in a safe way. This year, they unanimously decided to create hand-painted mugs for sale online (with in person delivery to local addresses). They are so excited to share their creations with you!

To Benefit Boston Medical Center:
For this year’s fundraiser, the Elementary Achievers have selected Boston Medical Center to receive a portion of their proceeds. Boston Medical Center (BMC) is a 514-bed academic medical center located in Boston's historic South End, providing medical care for infants, children, teens and adults. For more than 100 years, BMC has been driven by a commitment to care for all people, regardless of their ability to pay, providing not only traditional medical care, but also wraparound programs and services to enhance overall health. BMC has been on the front lines of the Covid-19 pandemic, providing exceptional care to Boston residents. The Friends-Boston Achievers are honored to be able to support the important work of BMC.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will also allow Friends of the Children - Boston to continue providing responsive, intentional and supportive services to our Achievers and their families - no matter what.
