Join Friends-Boston at the Next Philanthropy Connection Connect the Dots Event
Foster Care in the Spotlight, October 03, 2017
One of our new funders, a women's collective giving group called The Philanthropy Connection is hosting an event that Friends of the Children-Boston will be featured at! The event is a screening of a film about the foster Care system called Angelo Unwritten. Taking place on Tuesday, October 3rd at 6:00pm at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline.
After the screening, Friends-Boston will be one of 4 nonprofits talking about our interactions with the foster care system and how it impacts our kids.
It is free to attend and light refreshments will be served. If you would like to go, you can do so by clicking the Register button below. You can also learn more about the event below.
Hopefully you can join us!
We are very excited to invite you to a private screening of Angelo Unwritten, a documentary film by award-winning director Alice Stone. The film follows Angelo and his foster parents as they negotiate the pitfalls of the foster care system.
After the film, Ms. Stone will discuss her motivations for tackling this bittersweet subject. You will also hear from current and former TPC grantees with experience in the foster care system – Boston CASA, Friends of the Children, Sibling Connections, and Silver Lining Mentoring – as they field questions and comment on the film. Early registration is a must!
Where: Coolidge Corner Theater, 290 Harvard Street, Brookline
When: Tuesday, October 3
Time: 6:00-8:30 pm (film begins at 6:30)
Light drinks and snacks will be provided, and the theater also offers beer and wine for purchase, along with other drinks and traditional snack bar fare.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Coolidge Corner Theater for their generosity and to Alice Stone for graciously allowing us to offer this private screening of her film.
